“This is life in the iPhone world.”

Was Steve Jobs going public to make excuses for the iPhone4 good PR – or a gaff? I watched excerpts from his news conference on the Friday evening news and felt, yes, It was good PR for the CEO to get out there and defend his product and to offer a fix. It's always good PR when you can tell your story on the 6 o'clock news. However, Jobs' attitude was a bit arrogant and that is not good PR. He tended to minimize the problem, which is just what BP did at the beginning of the oil leak in the Gulf. Certainly, there is no comparison to the scope of the two problems. But CEO arrogance does not make for good PR.
